What Can an Industrial Borescope Inspect?

Industrial borescopes provide visual access to hard-to-reach areas inside engines, pipelines, machinery, castings, welds and other enclosed structures. They help identify cracks, corrosion, wear, deformation, blockages and foreign objects—without unnecessary disassembly or downtime.

What Defects Can a Borescope Detect?

How To Choose The Right Industrial Borescope?

The right borescope depends on where and what you need to inspect. Probe diameter, insertion length, articulation, image quality, lighting, measurement capability and environmental protection all matter. Matching these features to your inspection task can make the difference between simply seeing inside and detecting reliably.

FAQ about Industrial Endoscope Borescope Inspection Camera

Video borescopes are a type of borescope, but they feature a video display. Borescopes are simpler instruments with fewer features. Video borescopes are versatile, durable visual inspection tools that offer many leading-edge features, including video and still image recording.
Industrial endoscopes and borescopes are interchangeable terms, and both refer to the same type of instrument. However, the term endoscope is more commonly applied to tools used in the medical field for diagnostic purposes in living patients. Endoscopes, like video borescopes, are a more sophisticated type of borescope with very fine maneuverability and often featuring video and still image recording capabilities.
They are mainly divided into rigid borescopes, flexible video borescopes and fiber optic borescopes according to structure and working principle
Common probe diameters are 2.8mm, 3.9mm, 6mm and 8mm, and regular lengths range from 1m to 10m. Users shall choose proper specifications based on actual inspection aperture and detection depth. Do not pursue ultra-small diameter or excessive length blindly.
IP67 waterproof grade is the mainstream standard for daily use. There are also high temperature resistant models and ATEX certified explosion-proof models available for high-temperature, damp, oily and flammable explosive special working environments.
Clean the probe surface and lens after each use. Place the probe in natural curved state for storage, avoid sharp dead bending, and prevent extrusion and abrasion.
